Last July I was privileged to go to the International Convention, better know as iCON, held in Nashville, Tennessee. I did not compete there, but I served as an Apprentice. The definition of an Apprentice is a "student leader in training". During my week at iCON, I learned how to teach and guide the younger students (Young Communicators for Christ or YCC students). I met a few cool students who were fun to hang around with, so it made it easier for me to guide the young ones.
One of the main speakers there really influenced me and somehow gave me confidence and boldness to speak. So when I came home I really felt less nervous and more pumped to teach and speak.
I also served as an Apprentice at the 4:12 Conference last November in New Jersey. I learned to be the example and I also got to lead and teach the YCC students throughout most of the day.
Because of me going to iCON and the 4:12 Conference, I learned to speak up and have more confidence when I lead and teach younger students.
