Isabel took Introduction to Peacemaking with the ICC Academy.

In April and May I had the chance to experience the life changing Peacemaking Introduction Course with the Online ICC Academy. I learned so many new ways to look at the world in a different view point than I normally would at first glance.

This course has helped me to remember that my circumstances don’t define my peace, and that I have to recognize that I cannot control or manage the thoughts or attitudes of others. One lesson talked about how Christians aren’t always going to look like we think they should, that’s why we need to get rid of our religious cookies cutters, because when we try to cut out Christians with these cutters we trample on grace.

When I changed my perception and looked for peace, in a world where I once saw chaos and terror, it suddenly took on a whole different meaning because “You see what you seek.” I have to realize that my perspective can sometimes mess me up.

This course has, no doubt, helped to open up my mind to the bigger meaning of peace:

Peace is not the absence of conflict.

It is the presence of God!

Peacemaking Introduction has helped me to be able to answer the trials in my life differently, the way Jesus would. Everything that I’ve learned are life skills that will be the basis in my years to come.

The ICC Academy’s Peacemaking Introduction is designed to offer you some amazing revelations that will help you understand how conflict and chaos are actually part of God’s plan to help us grow and learn. Most of us want to fight or run the other way - but neither is particularly healthy. During this peacemaking introduction, we will reveal the secret the world seems to misunderstand — conflict is actually an opportunity to glorify God, strengthen relationships, and grow in self-awareness. Peacemaking Introduction identifies what a culture of peace is, explores our own role in establishing a culture of peace, and defines "I am the 85."
