Intentional or Accidental Leader?

Updated: Dec 19, 2019

RI HOPE is in its sixth year as a chapter of the Institute for Cultural Communicators (ICC). As the chapter sponsor, I have intentionally mentored over one hundred students and many of their parents in the art of public speaking and Christ-centered servant leadership. Even though I "run" the chapter, one group of teens gets most of my attention and time.

Recently I challenged the RI HOPE Student Leadership Team to consider what type of leaders they were: Intentional or Accidental. They all agreed that they want to be "intentional" leaders. As a team they are working toward this goal.

I am honored to work with the RI HOPE Student Leadership Team. Week in and week out they lead activities, devotions, and teach lessons and classes. They set the example for the young ones to follow. They mentor new students and plan our chapter presentations.

I think about all of my students and their families and pray for their growth as they become extraordinary leaders for Christ who intentionally serve others. At this time of year I want to express my thanks for the privileged of leading the members of RI HOPE.
