In December, Mary Gunther sent an email the said:

The joys of the season.

The memories of our favorite Christmases.

The light in the eyes of others when they unwrap a package.

The reminders that a big,

loving God gave everything -

emptied His very self -

on that Christmas night long ago...

for you.

It's the season of giving, and my favorite time of year.

The gift of giving makes all the wrapping-paper cuts, the winding lines at department stores,

the frozen extremities, and the omnipresent temptation of gingerbread and

peppermint mochas completely worth it.

In this season, I wanted to extend another gift - to you.

Something I use myself and with invested volunteers like yourself that can help you celebrate and recognize all the gifts and good news from 2018, and start 2019 with confidence and joy.

You’ll find it here - my 2018 Reflection Guide.

Gift yourself with a bit of time to take advantage of it."

I followed Mary's advice and I thought about this past year and wrote down 10 of the biggest wins for RI HOPE. During the last chapter meeting of 2018, I led the Student Leader break out session. The theme was “CELEBRATE” and I had my list to read.

1. 54 platforms between October 15th and November 15th

2. Four Students were inducted into the Guild

3. Two Students attended Media Prep in July

4. Four student leaders went to iCON

5. My assistant chapter sponsor attended IGNITE and iCON

6. Two chapter moms took an the ICC Academy "Coaching Communicators" course

7. Six student leaders took Peacemaking Intro

8. Corporate Sponsors gave funds for all the training events the Student Leaders attended

9. Jeannie Burlowski visited Rhode Island and reached over 60 people with her message of hope

10. Finally...this BLOG has many new entries written by the students, alumni and parents.
