2019 RI HOPE Showcase

Updated: Dec 19, 2019

The RI HOPE Student Leader Team put together a Chapter Showcase for family and friends.

The evening began with the Young Communicators for Christ, under the direction of

Sam and Isabel Shippee who performed the Beginning Public Speaking Chant, shared testimonies and did a fair amount of storytelling.

One by one, they bravely stepped up to the mic to recite several Bible stories and “The Little Red Hen”.

The Student Leaders took turns sharing their testimonies of growth and transformation. It was so apparent that God has been at work in RI HOPE.

The evening program was interspersed with silly claps lead by Isabel, David Stamp, and Rachel and their side guides, Christy Northup and David Souza.

Rachel Everette shared her testimony about being an extraordinary leader for Christ who is willing and able to serve those around her as an optimistic, skydive loving teenager.

The highlight of the evening was the Tournament Showcase where the audience enjoyed a variety of award-winning speeches performed by student leaders who received invitations to the International Convention (better known as iCON) at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee.

  • Computer Assisted Presentation (CAP) entitled “Target Therapy” by David Stamp

  • Dramatic Interpretation by Olivia Dailey

  • Informative Presentation about the “Seven Wonders of the World” by Isabel Shippee

  • Original Adaptation of “Little Red Riding Hood” written and performed by Isabel Shippee, Sam Shippee, and Andrew Clarkin

  • Thematic Religious Reading entitled “Fear” compiled and performed by Olivia Dailey

We finished the evening performance with two group presentations. “The Giving Tree” by Shel Silverstein which they had performed at the Rhode Island Veterans’ Home as a Chapter Presentation for Veterans’ Day in November.

The Grand Finale was the senior presentation performed by Micah Everette, Natalia & John DeChristofaro of the slam poetry “Speak with Conviction” by Taylor Mali.

Of course we couldn't miss an opportunity for a group picture.
