ICC = Intentional Caring Community

Updated: Dec 19, 2019

For the past 20 years I have worked with more than a half a dozen speech organizations and none can compare with the intentional caring community of ICC.

Besides Institute for Cultural Communicators, ICC can also stand for:

  • Innovative Christ-centered Curriculum: The Young Speakers Guild (YSG) training series has three phase that guide students to become competent character driven communications.

  • Inspirational Christ-honoring Communication: Chapters are guided by the ICC Navigator that guides the warm-ups, opening activities, devotions and lessons from handshakes to preparing for community platforms. Students learn and grow in a safe community.

  • Individual Communications Coaching: Every chapter meeting has a 30-minute small group coaching session where parents team up with student leaders to mentor new students.

  • Interactive Children's Classes: Young Communicators for Christ Classes (YCC) are primarily taught by student leaders who are 14 - 18 years old. These extraordinary young people lead lessons that are faced paced and fun with interactive skits and demonstrations.

  • Influence the Community at the Competition: The ICC Forensic Society (ICCFS) provides opportunities for training members to become character-driven communicators and leaders with excellent analytical and speaking skills. This is accomplished by creating safe environments to practice real-world skills and receive additional coaching before taking presentations into the community.

  • Important Cultural Communication: Student Leaders are given the opportunity to lead on a variety levels starting at the local chapter at the age of 14. After they are inducted into the Young Speakers Guild they become eligible for area (ASLT) and global (GSLT) student leadership teams. Members of the ASLT build connections between the adult leaders and student leaders in the area. Members of the GSLT support the Student Leader community globally by helping to host international events and functions.
