"We have identified a list of competencies that are essential for your child to develop to prepare them for the future."

- Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE)

This quote from a report written by the Singapore Ministry of Education further states:

Necessary competencies for a globalised world

The following competencies are necessary for the globalised world we live in:

  • Civic Literacy, Global Awareness and Cross-Cultural Skills

  • Critical and Inventive Thinking

  • Communication, Collaboration and Information Skills

Together, these core values and competencies will help our students embody the Desired Outcomes of Education so that they are able to capitalise on the rich opportunities of the digital age.

The MOE "Necessary Competencies" sound like the five "Vital Skills" of ICC:

  1. Communication

  2. Collaboration

  3. Creativity

  4. Critical thinking

  5. Cultural intelligence

Here is a recent email from Dr. Teresa Moon, President and CEO of the Institute for Cultural Communicators where she invites parents to take a Readiness Assessment with their children in mind. This brand new tool will help determine if students have the 5 Vital Skills which will prepare them to face changing demographics and technological advancements of the 21st Century and seize new and exciting opportunities.

For decades, we’ve been researching and training students in the five vital skills they need to succeed in education and in life.
Now, we have created an assessment that can help parents and coaches evaluate just how ready their students are! This tool was developed by our extraordinary team to help you prepare your students for success in education and in life.
The ICC Readiness Assessment gives you a way to look at each of these five competencies, with your own student in mind. The assessment helps you discern your student’s current development in each of the vital skills. Once complete, we’ll send you a personalized report for your student breaking down specific focus areas to help you prepare them to thrive!
Below is a quick video I made about the assessment.

You can empower your student right now for the real world.
