Six members of RI HOPE had the privileged of attending IGNITE Winter Advance Leadership Training January 16-20 in Spring City, Tennessee. Take a few minutes to read about the transformation that occurred during this week of refreshment and growth. Cindy
When we gather together as an ICC community, our students and coaches can be heard sharing what we call "Goff-isms." These phrases (used extensively by Bob Goff, hence the nickname) are comprised of two parts: "I used to think.... but now I know..."
We write them, talk about them, and share them as a way of communicating our takeaways and personal transformations that come from workshops and events.
Here are a few that attendees of our IGNITE Winter Advance shared with us after experiencing workshops on our six core values:
Intentional Innovation: "I used to think that learning new media was futile and worthless, but now I know it can open the door to transformational relationships."
Irresistible Mentoring: "I used to think being interesting and entertaining would make a connection with someone, but now I know that being genuinely interested in the other person makes a better connection."
Courageous Peacemaking: "I used to think conflict makes relationships awkward, but now I know it strengthens them."
Genuine Cultural Communication: "I used to think cultural intelligence came from experience, but now I know it comes from curiosity."
Life-Giving Community: "I used to think being a part of any community was good for me, but now I know that a life-giving community is one that is safe and empowering."
Vibrant Transformation: "I used to think I’d always be a poor communicator and bad listener, but now I know I can grow and the Lord can use me."
I hope these small nuggets of insight from developing coaches like you are an encouragement to you this week.
We'd love for you to experience your own transformation - and take away your own Goff-isms - from our next live event. Hope to see you there.
