The Rhode Island Hope Student Leader Team led a fantastic evening performance on Tuesday, June 7th at Faith Fellowship Community Church in Coventry. Olivia Dailey, RI HOPE Chapter Mentor and 2021 ICC Fall Intern collaborated with Chapter Sponsor, Mrs. Samantha Short to create an entertaining selection of interactive games and claps, skits and choral readings, testimonies and speeches. The audience was truly blessed.
The Rhode Island Hope Student Leader Team Bella, David, Ben and Olivia
They started the evening with the Chavez family's surprise entry to the stage as superheroes with an ICC skit about the "purpose" of presenting a well-prepared speech.
The young communicators for Christ presented jokes and helped to lead silly claps that they had learned from the student leaders during their classes.
David and Ben led "Coke and Pepsi": an interactive game in which they asked the audience to choose their favorite pet or drink or season of the year. There were lots of giggles and laughter as the boys took turns introducing each new pair.
The entire RI HOPE Chapter presented the Giving Tree as a Choral Reading.
Jacob Chavez presented his Phase 2 informative speech about stinging insects. His witty personality made this uncomfortable subject very entertaining.
Followed by Bella Chavez and David Souza as they interpreted two short Frog and Toad stories.
First year student, Brody King gave his testimony about how to love even when it is hard.
David Souza informed the audience about the glory of the heavens as God's handiwork. He shared his beautiful slides of Uranus and Neptune that he created for a Computer Assisted Phase three speech.
Mrs. Short gave out certificates to six students who advanced to the next phase of the Insititute of Cultural Communicators Young Speakers Guild (YSG) Training Series.

Olivia Dailey was featured in the "Senior Spotlight" as her younger sister, Daniela formally introduced her speaking about all of Olivia's accomplishments and interests and hobbies.
Following the Showcase tradition, Olivia masterfully recited the spoken word poem, "Speak with conviction" by Taylor Mali.
As the finale, the student leaders took to the stage one last time with the choral presentation "Risk It".
Many in the audience couldn't help but comment on how amazed they were with the students. There were a half a dozen RI HOPE alumni that came out to support the chapter students. They marveled at the growth of the students they once taught. What a beautiful testimony to the transformation that takes place when a life-giving chapter community mentors young people to lead for Christ.
